Is Sex Exercise?

Is it?  Well let's start by taking a look at the definition of exercise "...an activity requiring physical effort, carried out to sustain or improve health and fitness."  Yes - sex requires physical effort and yes, sex can improve both physical  and mental health (depending on who you are having sex with of course!).  It is suggested that we exercise at least 30 minutes per day and sadly for most of us that just isn't attainable in the bedroom! Getting hot and sweaty between the sheets though can often feel like a workout, and studies have shown that when having sex your heart and respiratory rate and blood pressure all increase as they do during a workout, and sexual activity elicits up to 75% of maximal exercise.   So physiologically our bodies' response to sex is similar to that of exercise, plus there's that euphoric feeling we get from the endorphines that comes with finishing a long run and after climaxing.  However, sex isn't going to change you physically in the long term - it just isn't sustainable for long enough, whereas working out can and does.  Although is must depend on which sex position you use as this sex position here is most definitely going to build up those buttock and thigh muscles for the woman - not too sure which muscles for the man though!
