Are you Small Middling or Intense?
As well as physical sexual-typing (Hare, Elephant, Bull etc…), which classifies your genitalia and general demeanour, Kama Sutra also stereotypes passion: lovers are classified as Small, Middling or Intense.

A man of Small passion has sparse semen, lack of enthusiasm and dislike of physical contact with women. Men of Middling passion are on the next rung of the sexual ladder, but the king of playmates is Intense passion. These temperamental classifications apply to both males and females and in an ideal world we should be evenly matched with our sexual partners.

Kama Sutra texts note that a female loves the male more when he is an Intense lover, or when he has stamina and passion, but it is also realistic about the downside, for women, when commenting that “…males, when engaged in coition, cease of themselves after emission, and are satisfied but it is not so with the female” In short, even the ancients shot their loads and nodded off, leaving their partners unsatisfied.

A modern woman should not rely on her partner to ‘deliver’ her an orgasm but be actively involved in her own pleasure through voicing her desires and fantasies but if her partner is a genuinely uninspiring lover then it may never happen.
Kama Sutra supports the philosophy that a healthy sex life is an essential aspect of our existence by encouraging lovers to work at pleasing each other. Mismatched lovers, both male and female, either need to be willing to learn new tricks or be prepared to lose in love. Frequently. Being sexually adventurous and trying new techniques should be something we all aspire to in order to keep sex fresh and exciting for both our partners and ourselves.
